Starting at Chess - WEDNESDAYS 3-4PM

Fall session: September 9 through November 11 (10 classes)

Fee: $195 - 10 classes (or $20/class prorated)

Class time: Wednesdays 3 - 4PM

Class schedule: 4:00-4:05 warm-up with fun & easy chess questions
                            4:10-4:20 review last week's material via fun questions & polls for solutions
                            4:20-4:40 mastering new materials
                            4:40-4:55 fun exercises to deepen the understanding of the new material
                            4:55-5:00 summarize, set weekly plan to practice chess

Class Level: Absolute beginners will learn the followings:

• board and its orientation
• pieces and their values, movements, and captures
• goal of the game
• algebraic notations
• parts of the chess games and basic opening principles
• basic checkmating patterns
• interesting chess history experts
