Developing Players (Beginners/Intermediate) - WEDNESDAYS 4-5PM

Fall session: September 9 through November 11 (10 classes)

Fee: $195 - 10 classes (prorated $20/class)

Class time: Wednesdays 4 - 5PM

Class schedule: 4:00-4:05 warm-up with fun & easy chess questions
                            4:10-4:20 review last week's material via fun questions & polls for solutions
                            4:20-4:40 mastering new materials
                            4:40-4:55 fun excercised to deepen the understanding of the new material
                            4:55-5:00 summarize, set weekly plan to practice chess

Class Level: beginners will review the following:

• board and its orientation
• pieces and their values, movements, and captures
• goal of the game and algebraic notations
• phases of the chess games and basic opening principles
• basic checkmating patterns

and will learn the following new materials:

• checkmating patters
• tactics: pins, forks, skewers, double attacks
• opening principles
• basic middle game principles
• basic endgame principles
