The Mechanics' Institute Chess Club is excited to announce that 2018 US Champion and Olympic Gold medalist GM Sam Shankland will be holding a 26-board simul on July 13th as part of our Open House. Come and join us for a chance to play our hometown chess hero and stay to join us for other exciting programs celebrating 170 years of history at the Mechanics' Institute.
